MAURO BORRELLI is a versatile director, screenwriter, with a background in fine art.

Mauro’s visual skills have led him to collaborate with renowned filmmakers such as Francis Ford Coppola, Bernardo Bertolucci, Tim Burton, Quentin Tarantino, M. Night Shyamalan, Ang Lee, Gus Van Sant, Roland Emmerich, and Terry Gilliam.

The films he has contributed to earned a total of nine Academy Awards and created some of the most profitable cinematic franchises in history, including Star Wars ($10.3 billion), Avengers ($7.7 billion), Batman ($6 billion), and Pirates of the Caribbean ($4.5 billion). Mauro wrote and directed “The Recall” in 2018, starring Wesley Snipes, which received the esteemed Golden Dragon award for Best Director. Soon after, Mauro helmed the fantasy thriller “Warhunt,” featuring Mickey Rourke and Jackson Rathbone.

In 2023 Lionsgate released Mauro’s psychological thriller “Mindcage,” boasting a star-studded cast including John Malkovich, Martin Lawrence, and Melissa Roxburgh.
